Of the Philosophy of Praxis

“Modern Marxist literature is often seriously defective, mainly because it has departed from the philosophy of praxis, which gave Marx’s own writing on the subjects of philosophy, political economy, and socialism its power and purpose.”

-- Gavin Kitching, Karl Marx and the Philosophy of Praxis, 1988

I had to check this out in a nut shell it means ; practice what you preach and its one of the hardest things to do because it means denying the self.

I think you actually need to read Karl Marx.

Marx is very difficult to read, although he does come up with some wonderful sentences.

Never found Marx difficult to read – I would rather read Marx than an analysis of Marx written by someone else

Every commentary on Marx’s writings offers another insight into Marxist thinking. It’s like having a conversation with an intellectual friend, who brings into the discussion a new way of understanding something Marx wrote. For example, I like reading literature from the analytical Marxists, although I know they are not so much interpreting the Hegelian Marx, but rather they are employing analytical philosophy to update Marxism.

But that is the insight of another not your own insight which you can only gain by reading Marx.

Although reading Marx is recommended, getting insights from other readers of Marx himself can be enlightening and informative. But I have read both right-wing criticisms of Marx and socialist commentaries on Marx, and both are very instructive. Marx’s writing style is difficult for me, and some Marxist authors have a better writing manner than did Marx. However, Marx did write some memorable, electrifying sentences.

You right but its a bit dry and difficult for me I tend to like fiction and I find deep philosophy often drowns me.
